VTN Master Agents

Agent Accounts are especially designed for VTN Agents. VTN’s agents are business affiliates and provide services on the behalf of VTN. If you are interested in becoming VTN’s agent or need information, please download VTN’s Agents User Guide.

Login
Login to VTN Agent Account requires email address, password, pin number and security verification number must be entered. It’s important to note that Pin Number cannot be entered with keyboard. It’s one of the security features built into VTN. You will have to enter Pin number by using mouse and clicking the numbers below in blue color.

Who is a VTN  Master Agent?

  • A Corporate body or registered business or individual interested in enabling systematic change amongst the poor rural communities by improving access to financial services through mobile payment.
  •  Also has the capacity to give the 'unbanked' masses access to financial services, and bring them into the formal economy.

  •  Supermarkets
  •  Pharmacies

Need for VTN Agents

  • Mobile payment agents are the main actors for any successful mobile payment deployment
  • Nigeria will require a minimum of 60,000 agents to cover the 34 states and 744 local governments in order to seamlessly provide this service
  • With only 18 million Bank accounts and 75 million Mobile Phone subscribers, Nigeria is poised to become Africa’s biggest Mobile Money market.

VTN Mobile Pro Agent Account Requirements

The following are the requirements to be a fully authorized VTN Mobile Pro agent:

A) STANDARD REQUIREMENTS

Registration requirement
(Where the agent is a corporate body or a registered business):

The agent must be registered as a Business with CAC

OR (Where agent is an individual):

Three references to be verified by VTN

(B) Minimum Agent outlets

The Agent must have at least (1) outlet ready to offer VTN Mobile Pro under the company names.

The agent outlets must be located in a visible business district / street .

Agent is expected to have their own existing business running. For those entities that want to set up specifically to operate as an agent, the company Business plan is required to determine their marketing plan and cash flow projection.

(C) Category of existing business

Food Chains
Supermarkets
Pharmacies

Note: These are just a few examples, we'll be happy to review  other business types not mentioned above

(D) Bank Account requirement:

Maintain  an active  current account with a Commercial Bank of choice  in Nigeria

E) Premises and their Maintenance requirements–VTN Mobile Pro Agents

(a)A VTN Mobile Pro agent must conform to our branding and merchandising policy. The minimum branding requirements will be supplied to you on commencement of business.

(b) Staff
The agent should preferably employ staff with minimum of SSCE  and previous customer service experience to handle the service.

(c) Technical Requirements

The agent office must have the following equipments before commencing operations:

(a) 1 Computer/Laptop.

Minimum Basic computer technical specifications:

Operating system: Windows Vista/ Windows 7
Processor: Intel Pentium / Celeron
Memory: Minimum 2GB Memory
Hard disk space: 80GB Hard drive

Security: Installation of Internet security/Antivirus/ anti malware software

Browser: Microsoft Internet explorer or Firefox

(The computer must be Internet ready) 

 (b) At least 2 people to handle head office operations on a day to day basis (not on a full time basis).
(c) Internet connectivity with good connection speeds
(d) 1 printer for printing downloaded reports.
(e) Other items/equipment necessary to conduct the business like desks chairs, stationery.

(f) A functioning  telephone line either landline or mobile for contact.
(g) Official E-mail contact

The following documents must be submitted when asked:

For corporate body agents only

  • Copies of Certificate of Incorporation/Registration of Business

  • Memorandum and Article of Association
  • Board Resolution authorizing the organization to offer mobile payments

  • Copies of IDs and two colored Passport photos of two of the directors / Business owners
  • Copies of ID's and two colored Passport photographs of employees designated to manage the office

  • Business address where the agent point will be located

  • 3 Months Bank statements

  • Refundable security deposit

    VTN Mobile Pro Agent Resource Requirements

    In order to test and deploy an agent point, the agent must have registered to become a mobile payment agent, passed through the KYC in-line with the CBN guidelines and paid the approved security fee deposit if any in-line with the CBN guidelines. During the initial assessment of the agent, the VTN installation team shall determine the appropriate tool to communicate with VTN such as a desktop computer, a laptop or wireless POS. What is required shall be determined by the facilities the agent has already. If an agent already has a computer, the computer shall be used only after the appropriate antivirus and security software are installed. The agent is required to contact Internet service provider independently or go through VTN's service provider relationship requirements. The resources required are tabled here below:

    Specific Roles of VTN Agents

    VTN Mobile Pro agents will carry out the following roles:
    • Cash in/ Cash out/ Educating customers
    • Receive cash and load VTN account for customers at their shop
    • Receive cash and sell VTN recharge cards to customers
    • Sell recharge cards in bulk to other resellers under them
    • Pay out cash to customers who have received money from another VTN customer in Nigeria
    • Pay out cash to customers who have received money from another VTN customer outside Nigeria
    • Agents can assist in registering customers who may need their help
    • Agents can help customers install VTN Mobile pro on their phone
    • Additional roles of agents to be communicated from time to time

    VTN Online Account Interface

    Agent Online Account Features

    i. User Profile
    Agent Navigation Panel

    On the Agent Account User’s Home Page, a Navigation Panel is provided to facilitate navigation in the best possible way. On this panel, all useful links are provided which will show different aspects of your account.

    User Navigation / Account Holder’s Navigation Panel is shown here with all the useful links that can be used. Complete details of each link are provided below in separate categories.  

    Login

    Login in to your VTN Agent account requires your email address, password pin number and security number for verification. It’s important to note that Pin Number cannot be entered with the keyboard. It’s one of the security features built into VTN.

    Edit Profile

    Edit Profile option gives the flexibility
    to change your profile anytime. You can
    change your address, contacts and
    almost everything that you have filled
    in the registration form. You can also
    change your shop location as well
    as add any new shops.

    NOTE: You will have to type in the security number displayed for verification purposes, then click ‘submit’.

    Upload Photo

    This is necessary to withdraw cash; otherwise you will have to withdraw by cheque. Upload your photo option helps you to load your recent colored passport size photograph in your profile. Loading a photograph is important as its adds credibility to your profile

    ii. Bank Details

    Add Bank Accounts

    Here, you are required to add a bank account or more to your profile. This is necessary to withdraw cash. Contact your bank for the correct branch code – entering the wrong code may mean your money is sent to the wrong account!

    List Bank Accounts

    This brings up a record of all bank accounts created on your profile



    iii. Funds

    Load Funds to Accounts
    This allows agents to load customers’ funds into their VTN accounts on their behalf.

    View Loaded Funds
    Agents can view funds loaded for customers by deposit date, customer username, and customer email or transaction receipt number.

    Payout Funds
    This is a key agent’s responsibility. Using the customer’s VTCN number, agents will pay out funds sent to customer’s mobile phones. Agents MUST check VTCN number authenticity before disbursing funds.



    View Funds Paid Out
    This is another key agent’s responsibility. Using the customer’s VTCN number, agents will pay out funds sent to customer’s mobile phones. Agents MUST check VTCN number authenticity before disbursing funds.

    Add Direct Deposit
    Allows agents to deposit funds at VTN partner banks and confirm deposits online. Select the bank where deposit was made and then enter teller information and submit.

    View Direct Deposit
    Agents can view all deposits made to their accounts by date, bank name, account, reference number or receipt number.

    iv. Transaction

    View Account Loading History
    ‘View Account Loading History’ panel helps in keeping record of all the VTN scratch card loads and agent’s loads.



    View Payments Received
    This panel helps agents to view and keep track of all the payments that they have received from VTN and customers. There are additional helpful options available to you on this panel such as:  

    1. You can limit received money transactions to a specific time period by mentioning dates. You can set dates easily by using the blue graphic calendar.
    2. Your net balance is shown on the right hand side.
    3. Search facility is available to find previous transaction.
    4. You can change easily records per page criteria.
    5. Buttons are available to browse through different pages of record.
    6. Most importantly, you can import your record in form of a spreadsheet by clicking on the MS Excel icon.



    View Payments Sent
    This panel helps agents to view and keep track of all the payments that they have sent to other parties. There are additional helpful options available to you on this panel similar to those on the ‘Payments received’ Panel.



    View Commission Received
    This panel keeps track of all the commissions the agent has earned overtime showing reference Number, exact Time and Date, Commission Amount, Nature of Commission and Remarks. There are additional helpful options available.



    View All Transactions
    ‘View All Transactions’ panel shows a detailed picture of your account and all the transactions you have made including funds deposited, funds received, funds transferred, funds withdrawn and VTN service charges. There are additional helpful options available.



    v. ePin

    Activate Scratch Card
    VTN provides the option for customers to purchase a reload scratch card and load the value onto their VTN account online or via GSM phone.

    To sell scratch cards, the Agent is required to collect the funds from customer plus the fee and enter the Serial number at the back of the card in order to activate the card. All cards in stock are inactive until activated by the Agent. 



    Deactivate Scratch Card



    Agents can deactivate a VTN Reload card if a customer has not yet used it. For this, ‘Deactivate Scratch Card’ option is available on the user navigation panel so agents can deactivate on behalf of customers.

    On submit, another page is displayed where cashier must enter the Teller/Receipt number for the deposit and complete the process. Scratch cards can be deactivated by following the same procedure.

    The VTN accounting department will tally all card sales with the actual amount received that day.

     View Scratch Card Log
    Agents can view all scratch card transactions, which are displayed 50 records per page. You are able to change the number of records to display per page.

    4.2 Other Features

    My Account
    Clicking on ‘My Account’ tab will take you to the main  interface page for Agents which highlights the frequently used icons.

     Logout         
    Safely log out of your account, by clicking on the ‘logout’ tab when all activities of the day are rounded up. This takes you back to the Agent’s Login Page.



    Customer Support
    Click on ‘Customer Support’ to get end-to-end support on account loading, recharge cards, making payments or email VTN at support@virtualterminalnetwork.com



    Faq
    Click on ‘FAQ’ – Frequently Asked Questions, for answers to user queries and concerns. This opens up a new window with answers to the most common questions.

    Account Security

    VTN takes account security very seriously. It is recommended that Agents change their account security information if they feel their account is under threat of compromise.

    VTN 24/7 Support

    Agents can contact VTN support staff 24 hours and 7 days of the week by clicking on the red icon on the ‘My Account’ homepage. This allows you to log your complaint (in a new window) which will be attended to by VTN support staff.

    Using the ‘Helpdesk’ form, log in and fill in details of your complaint/enquiry. This will be handled by the VTN support staff and a responses provided in the helpdesk account.
